James B. Bard

	James B. 'Huck' Bard, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2003 at 2:49 a.m. in the Missouri Delta Medical Center after an extended illness.  He was 69.
	Mr. Bard was born November 30, 1933 at Sugartree Ridge, near East Prairie, Mo., to the late Carl and Mary Nell Tyner Bard.  Huck lived in Mississippi and New Madrid Counties most of his life.  He was a retired Timber Cutter and a veteran of the United States Army.
	On October 27, 1986 at Ripley, Tennessee, he married Dorothy Parker who survives.  Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Jeff Furlow of Du Quoin and Lydia and Dave Majewski of Tamaroa; one step-daughter, Teresa Norville of Anniston; two step-sons, Ralph Bell of Kennet and Danny Bell of East Prairie; four brothers, Billy Bard of East Prairie, Dennis Bard of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Gary Bard of Georgetown, S.C. and Harry  Bard of Charleston, Mo.; four sisters, Betty Jackson of Anniston, Joyce Pointer of St. Louis, Sandra Pond of Portland, Ore. and Sharon Dorris of Derby, Kan.; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and many friends.
	One son, William Harland 'Harley' Bard and one sister, Joan Murphy, preceded him in death.
	Friends called after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo.  Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 15 at 1 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Martin Lucas officiating.  Burial followed in the Anniston Cemetery with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
